JSU should celebrate their first FBS game and a win. It is a huge milestone for a program making the jump up in class and a win over a team that is not a pushover. Both teams have significant work to do to compete at the top level of CUSA, but this was Week 0 and it is a long season.

We continued our self guided tour on the Chapel Trail. A ⅓ mile walk (uphill both ways) to the Cadet Chapel which is normally the highlight of a trip to USAFA. But as the sign at the visitors center said, the cadet chapel is closed for a multi year restoration and the expected opening is 2027.

HBS is a nice venue with excellent sight lines to downtown Minneapolis. We did a lap around the concourse checking out the variety of food options and the end zone beer garden that served the ever popular bucket of cheese curds.

I think we managed to hit all of the highlights of the University of Illinois campus including the student union, the quad, the tornado shelter, the math building where we could not get to the top of the bell tower, the indoor practice facility that was locked, and even the preacher who told us we were all going to hell.

At a school that is rich with tradition, this might be the king of traditions. Texas A&M does not have cheerleaders, they have Yell Leaders. The night before each game the yell leaders lead the band and crowd in various yells, The Aggie War Hymn, and other antics mocking the weekly opponent to hype the crowd for the game the following day.
