The first all out family trip of The Quest has arrived. This would definitely be an atypical trip.
Oregon was THE trip I had been looking forward to since before the quest was a twinkle in my eyes.
As game time approached, we took a look around and saw far more orange than black. It was getting to be a Clemson is already up 70-0 crowd. It was all orange.
This game was chosen for its big game potential in a big time environment. But it was not in the cards ….
We arrived in Nashville, the 7th most dangerous city in the US (per Forbes.com based on violent crime data compile in 2009 by the FBI). There has been a lot of off season hype and excitement around the Vanderbilt program since Coach James Franklin took over in 2011 and took Vanderbilt to a bowl game last year.
The East Carolina Pirates pull out a back and forth game 38-31.
It was a tremendous performance by WKU, and thus, the 18 game home losing streak was over. The crowd stormed the field.
The stadium was a great atmosphere to see a game. It is a very nice stadium that can get absurdly loud. Louisville earns the 16-14 victory, as Al misses a chance to gain ground in our game picking contest.
The RV idea that was first hatched in Lubbock, Texas in November 2009 and further solidified in Iowa City last November has come to fruition (despite my belief that it would never happen).
